ILM Level 3
Certificate in First Line Management

Duration
|
Minimum 160 guided learning hours excluding assessment,
normally within one year, or a maximum of three years.

Structure and
Content
|
 | Induction lasting 3 hours
|
 | Minimum 7 hours' tutorial guidance for assessments for the
full award, or pro rata for single modules,
|
 | Ten 15-hour modules
comprising a total of 5 segments per
module
|
 | Personal development and generic management skills are
integral parts of the programme. |
Offered either as an Integrated programme or as a Modular
programme, where modules can be completed and certificated
individually. |

Learning and
Development
|
Flexible modes of delivery, to suit the requirements of
participants, sponsors and Centres. May include elements of
open/distance/online learning to complement a minimum of 30
hours of workshops. Collaborative learning is essential, and may
be fulfilled by provision of an Extended Learning Experience.
Reflective learning and personal development are also essential
features of the programme, to be achieved through the Personal
Development Record

Assessment
|
 | Either five Work-based Assignments (approx. 2 hours each)
based on a pair of modules, or ten shorter Work-based
Assignments (approx. 1 hour each), one per module.

 | Project (approx. 2000-2200 words)
|
 | Group Meeting with (and assessed by) the External Verifier

 | Summative Personal Development Record |

Entry Requirements
|
Participants will normally be practising or potential first
line managers. Whilst there are no formal educational
requirements, learners should have a background that will enable
them to benefit from the programme.

ILM Membership
|
Candidates who achieve the ILM Level 3 Certificate in First
Line Management are eligible to apply for ILM Associate
