Steve
formed HMS in 1991, after a successful career in sales and marketing.
Working for such household names as Mars, Marigold and Sterling Health,
Steve's sales experience led to him undertaking a management training
role for most of his employers. Steve's real interest is in helping people and teams develop and was one of the reasons why, in 1997, he undertook a Masters Degree, studying Training & Development, at The University of Sheffield. Steve is accredited to use the Team Management System suite of tools; utilises Honey & Mumford's Learning Style materials regularly and believes that managing people is very largely common sense. As he says: "Managing people isn't rocket science, so how come so many of us get it wrong?" Steve's great "passion" when it comes to work is to see participants take the learning acquired on one of his workshops and put it into practice in the workplace. He believes that real learning takes place when behaviour changes.
